Botanical Distraction

Hi, Tribe,

One of the things my teacher taught me in order to deal with negative thoughts, my anxiety and depression, is to distract myself. Distract, distract, distract.

Let’s face it, if you’re doing nothing your mind has a way of latching on to any and all stressors you’re dealing with. If you’re busy, however, your mind is occupied elsewhere thereby not allowing the negative thoughts to invade.

My teacher asked me to pick something I loved and go do it. My choice was flowers, so she suggested I take a trip to the State Botanical Gardens, which is exactly what my son and I did a week and a half ago.

It was the most beautiful of distractions and I spent one on one time with my precious boy (young man, really).

Today, I want to share a few of my favorite photos from our visit. It was so beautiful and we were so busy taking in the sights, sounds and smells there was no time for negativity or stress. There was only beauty, sunshine and love.

I hope you enjoy the photos. We sure enjoyed our morning of distraction and spending time together.

Blessings, Peace and Love,

Diane
